About Us

Meet GRIT Motorsports

GRIT was started as a way to fill a need. A need for adventure. We are passionate about adventure, especially in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. We feel strongly that adventures are to be shared, and that all people should experience the feeling of riding their dirt bikes and snowmobiles in this stunning landscape. Founded in Conifer, CO as a repair shop, we have moved to beautiful Montrose, CO where we provide dirt bikes and snowmobiles for experienced riders to rent and enjoy all that the area has to offer. We feel that the Western Slope of Colorado has a lot more opportunity for people to get out and ride than the eastern side. We believe that the area has all of the features to become a premier riding spot in the USA. All it needs is people like YOU to come ride it (and then tell your friends).

Our Goal

Here at GRIT, we want to give riders an opportunity to experience our backyard… because it’s pretty epic. It doesn’t matter if you’re a local here in town, or from the other side of the world, we want people with a passion for riding to be able to come explore western Colorado.

Meet the Owner

Sam started GRIT Motorsports when he saw a need for a reputable and local repair shop in Conifer, CO. With a background as an automotive technician, it was a role he was more than willing to fill. He wanted people to be able to ride their dirt bikes and snowmobiles on the weekends without having to wait 4+ weeks for a shop in Denver to fix their machine when it was broken.

When the opportunity arose to move the shop and his family to the Western Slope, Sam jumped on it. With more open space and accessibility to some of the best riding the country has to offer, it was a no-brainer that Montrose would be a great place to share these sports.

Sam grew up traveling to Colorado from Missouri with his family and their Jeep. He fell in love with all that the wilderness of the Rockies had to offer. Years later, his family moved to Conifer and exploring the mountains became a year-round lifestyle. He jumped on the first opportunity to get on two wheels and tracks, and hasn’t looked back since.
